Dear parents/carers, staff and students,
This term has been incredibly busy for our students, with many assessments and preparations for the end of year events. I thank staff and students for maintaining high levels of rigour in teaching and learning right up until the end of term. As we all know, every day counts and there is always much to learn.
We have so much to look forward over the course of the next 3 weeks with many celebratory events including the Year 6 Graduation, Pre-primary to Year 5 Book Awards, Kindergarten Christmas Concerts, the Year 6 Fun Fair and P&C disco.
I thank the students, staff and parents/carers for creating such a wonderful school community.
National School Opinion Parent Survey
Once again I thank the 221 families that complete the parent opinion survey. Again the results from this survey reflect high levels of satisfaction form the parent community. I have collated the results from the 2016, 2018 and 2021 results below. It is pleasing to note that in many areas there was further improvement.

Staff Farewells
The following staff will not be with us in 2022:
Mrs Farrell, following her dream to open her very own Art Studio.

It is such a credit to all of the staff listed above, they have shown the courage to embrace change and have had great success. We wish them all the very best for their future endeavours and thank them for their significant contribution to our school.
Mrs Elkins, will also be on leave in 2022, congratulations and best wishes to Mrs Elkins and her family, who will be welcoming a new baby in early 2022.
A special mention and sincere thanks to Mrs Mandy Ward who will be moving from the school administration team and to a one day per week classroom role in 2022. Mrs Ward has been a valued staff member of Campbell PS since 2003 and an integral part of the Executive Team. She has worked tirelessly for the benefit of the students and our school. We would like to wish her all the best in her transition to retirement.
Student Councillors and Faction Captains 2021
I applaud the efforts of all of our departing student leaders. They have shown great leadership over the course of 2021. The incoming student leaders have been working alongside them to learn their roles for 2022.
Semester 2 Reports
Reports will be going home via Connect on Thursday 9 December 2021. Parents who wish to have a meeting with teachers can make an appointment time in the last week of term.
Attendance
In order to access the full curriculum, and give your child the best chance of success, the Department of Education recommends the attendance rate of 95%.
In Week 9 of this term, attendance letters will be sent home to all families where a child’s absenteeism has placed them at indicated risk. Whilst we understand that some absences are due to illness it is still important that parents are advised of the rate of attendance for their child

P&C Thank You
I would like to acknowledge and thank Kirthana, P&C President and the committee members who have worked tirelessly to support community engagement and school fundraising during 2021. This year has been a very successful year with the Colour Fun Run, Discos and second hand uniform sales. We look forward to more events in 2022.
School Board Successes for 2021
I wish to thank the School Board members for their exceptional support over the last year. A special mention Mrs Leonie Gurr, Vice Chair Person for her regular support and coordination of the meetings. The Board has worked collectively as a team to further progress our school. Some key areas of success in 2021 to note are as follows:

- Endorsement of the School Chaplaincy programme
- Monitored delivery of the Statement of Expectations
- Monitored student achievement across the school in academic and non-academic areas
- Monitored One-Line Budget through Financial reports
- Approved Leases within school – Helping Hands, Eternal Life Ministries and Hindi Classes
- Approved early close times for 2022
- Approved Professional Learning days for 2022
- Approved Voluntary Contributions and Charges and Stationery lists for 2022
- Endorsement of the BYOD programme for Year 3 students in 2022
- Notation and support of the school’s management of COVID-19
- Reviewed and endorsed the Dress Code Policy
- Reviewed the Positive Student Engagement Policy
- Commenced work on the development of the school’s next Business Plan
Class Placements 2022
Many requests for class placements have been received for the 2022 school year as such parents are again advised that requests for specific teachers and or requests for non-placement in composite classes or tandem arrangements are not considered. The school does not view these arrangements as detrimental to students’ academic or social development. Parents should also be aware that correspondence provided to the Principal will be considered by staff, but does not guarantee a particular outcome being sought by parents.
Further information regarding class placement is available on the school’s webpage- Campbell Primary School’s Class Placement Guidelines. I encourage all parents to read this document as it clearly defines the rigorous process undertaken to place students each year.
Not Returning or Returning Late in 2022
Thank you to those parents who have already advised the school that their child will not be returning to Campbell PS in 2022. If you have not already done so please advise Sue Forman, Manager Corporate Services, via email – Susan.Forman@education.wa.edu.au. This will ensure that the school has accurate student numbers to plan for the classes in 2022.
If you child will be having an extended holiday and not commencing on Monday 31 January 2022, parents are also asked to advise the school – Campbell.PS@education.wa.edu.au.
