Invitation to an Exclusive Year 6 Parent Evening Event

Tuesday 9 November 2021 from 6.00pm until 7.30pm.

 Dear Parents/Carers,

Your child is soon to be entering high school. Already they are being prepared through transition programmes. How prepared are you as parents for this transition though?

The school has arranged for a wonderful speaker with a wealth of experience in both adolescent development and managing the demands of the digital world to come and share their insight with you.

Claire Orange is an author, mum, parent educator, speaker and trainer with a passion for supporting children’s social and emotional learning and well -being in all facets of their lives. She has co-authored many resources including the Highway Heroes books and Digii Social platform used at the school.

Claire has designed this workshop specifically to assist you in supporting your child through the excitement and challenges of becoming an adolescent and entering high school.

Parenting adolescents is challenging and young people today are faced with many complex situations that may be outside your comfort zone.

We strongly encourage you to attend this evening to support and further prepare you in as many ways as possible in order to help your child transition.

Claire will be sharing essential information and insights on a range of issues including:

  • Your role as a parent of young adolescents
  • Communicating with teens
  • Early warning signs of anxiety and/or depression
  • Responding to anxiousness in a positive way
  • Where to get support
  • Social media

Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions at the conclusion of the presentation.

This initiative is central to Campbell Primary School’s commitment towards supporting students and families in all aspects of childhood development. The evening caters for all parents of Year 6 students, irrespective of which high school they may be attending.

I hope that all parents find the time to attend this important event because as you do, we also feel there is nothing more important than the well-being of your child. We believe this workshop will further enhance your capacity to offer support to your children during this transition.
