Dear Parents/Carers,
We have experienced a very positive Term 3 thus far with many complementary cross curricular opportunities for our students such as the musical, cross country, gardening projects, author in residence, book week and the up coming book parade. Given the current lockdowns across the nation we are very fortunate to offer such events at this time.
WA Primary School of the Year
Having achieved such a pleasing Public School Review last term, with both staff and school board endorsement, I have submitted a written nomination for WA Primary School of the Year. I am exceptionally proud of the students and staff at Campbell Primary School and greatly appreciate the relationship and support of our parent community. Campbell Primary School is an amazing school with an unrelenting focus in ensuring we nurture the hearts and minds of all.
COVID-19 Planning – Learning From Home
Parents are advised that we have a COVID-19 plan in place for any possible lockdown. To further complement our school planning for possible learning from home, a survey will be sent out to all families later this week to determine student’s access to devices and the internet in their home. This information will assist us to develop strategies to enable continued education at home for our students should the need arise. It is important that we are pro-active at such times and are able to support families in the best way we can for online/home learning. We ask that all parents complete the survey when it comes out later this week.
The school is continuing to reinforce good hygiene practices and physical distancing of adults, along with increased daily cleaning regimes, access to hand sanitiser and teaching of coughing/sneezing etiquette.
For many families, COVID-19 has resulted in uncertainty and hardship. We reflect on the significant measures in place on the east coast of Australia and give our sympathy to those families who are affected. Our thoughts are with you. The school will continue to support you and your families throughout this time. Remember that our school chaplain Kasorn Campbell is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, can work with individuals and families as required.
School Dress Code
At the last School Board meeting, the Student Dress Code Policy was reviewed. The policy review also included feedback from the Year 6 student council. I continue to encourage families to send students to school in their uniform as it :
- Establishes and enhances the image of the school.
- Establishes school spirit and teamwork.
- Ensures students are safely dressed for specific school activities.
- Encourages equality among students.
- Prepares students for work, as many work places have dress and safety codes.
If a school uniform item can’t be sourced, please do your best to send children in the school colours.
Kiss and Drive
I thank the many parents that are making good use of the Kiss and Drive, as this is greatly reducing congestion in the Comrie Road car park. Staff will continue to man the Kiss and Drive daily to ensure that all students safely enter the school grounds. Parents are advised that any child/ren dropped at the Kiss and Drive may walk through the Kindergarten, Pre-primary area to access the main school buildings.
Further signage in this area will be in place in the coming weeks, which will further assist in follow the parking requirements. If you are not needing to visit your child’s classroom, I encourage you to use the Kiss and Drive, I particularly encourage parents with children from Year 1 to 6 as this will greatly reduce congestion and allow access to parking for the Kindergarten and Pre-primary parents.
Crosswalk
Parents are asked to please use the crosswalk with their children as this provides the safest route for crossing the car park. This is an opportunity to foster good road safety with your child/ren.
2022 School Destinations or Not Returning to Campbell in 2022
Planning for Campbell’s 2022 school year has commenced. Accuracy in projected enrolments is vital as it is the number of students that we are primarily funded on. I would ask that parents please advise the school if their child/ren will not be returning to Campbell next year. Please email Campbell.PS@education.wa.edu.au if and when you decide your child will not be returning. Please also indicate the school that your child/ren will be attending in 2022.
We appreciate any information that you can provide us with as soon as convenient.
Thank you to those parents of our current Kindergarten students who have enrolled their child in for Pre-primary for 2022. If you have not already done so, please contact the school administration immediately to ensure that your child has a place in Pre-primary for 2022.

Term 3 Professional Development Day
